Phoenix: Giant Cedar Tortoise £995 (100cm x 73 cms)
This giant tortoise I carved is now technically stolen by Helen and Nick Hunter of Hunters Emporium. I agreed to a reduced price of 5 hundred pounds just before Christmas 2016, so it sold quickly making the Hunters a decent profit along with 3 carved bears also reduced to half price. However they won’t pay me. The Emporium has ceased trading. Five months on Helen has blocked my phone and Nick is texting that they are bankrupt and the new business is not in Helen’s name. (Both untrue). If anyone has information on the selling price of these carvings then I’d be grateful to receive it.
How can it be morally or legally right that these rogue traders can just walk away from their debts and start up a new business? Please have nothing to do with their new jewellery shop, H & H Jewellers, Silver Street, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Update. This business has also now folded and Helen Hunter (now known as Helen Thorne) has opened up Larch Antiques in Rushden, Northamptonshire. She is still refusing to pay me now 17 months on.
Thank you. carvercarrie@outlook.com
