About

I graduated June 2005 with a Fine Art BA (Hons) degree. I was interested in blurring the boundaries between sculpture and painting. As a painter and sculptor, I endeavoured to explore both disciplines – making paintings ‘sculptural’ and some sculptures ‘painterly’. I worked with unusual materials, such as thermalite blocks, concrete, resin, plaster, paper, chain, rivets and re-cycled glass as well as the more conventional paints and textiles.

Since I discovered chainsaw carving and finishing wood sculptures with power tools this has taken precedence over other materials. This is a very exciting venture for me since large sculptures can now be made in a short time because of the rapid removal of wood that the chainsaw allows. I would like to bring chainsaw carving into the art gallery and possibly combine wood, metal and textile sculptures.

My relief paintings, concrete ‘paintings’ and sculpting with breezeblocks, resin sculptures and glass re-cycling led to the start-up of a small business – ‘Sculpture 4 Schools’.  (Clicking the link will take you to this website).
I have undertaken several commissions to produce unique, innovative sculpture projects with children, as well as metalwork, ceramics and silk painting workshops.

My own sculptures and paintings have been displayed at various exhibitions including at Goodwood, Towcester, Delapre Abbey,  Charlecote Park, the N.A.M.E. new graduates exhibition at Stoneleigh Park, the Saatchi online gallery, Northampton and The Castle, Wellingborough.
